On 18–20 September, Bukovel hosted the inaugural Carpathian 8 Summit — a new cooperation format bringing together Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia, Czechia, Hungary, Romania, Austria and Serbia alongside EU institutions.
Cherkasy region was represented by a regional delegation led by Ihor Taburets, Head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration. The Cherkasy Regional Development Agency was part of the delegation.
We spoke at one of the summit’s panel discussions and presented the region’s investment capacity — what Cherkasy region has today and what it is ready to offer a partner looking for a site for their project.
This format calls for specifics. International investors do not work with general descriptions of a region: they need available sites, prepared projects, clear entry conditions and a reliable partner on the ground. That is exactly what the Agency does day to day — translating the region’s potential into a form you can bring to the negotiating table.
A dedicated part of the summit programme focused on the local and regional dimension of the Carpathian initiative. This is the level at which international agreements turn into concrete projects in specific communities.
