On July 29, the “Cities for People: Strategy of Cities and Regions” conference, organized by JSC Ukreximbank, brought together more than a hundred participants — from government and local authorities to international partners and regional development agencies across Ukraine.
The event focused on key issues that directly affect every community:
-
how communities can not only survive but also develop in the context of post-war recovery;
-
which technologies and practices will ensure heat and light in Ukrainian homes next winter;
-
where to find resources, partners, and funding to implement critically important projects, particularly in the field of energy efficiency.
The Cherkasy Regional Development Agency was represented at the conference by Director Ilona Prykhodko, who works with local communities of the region every day. For our team, participation was not just about being present — it was another opportunity to learn from best practices, share our own experience, and identify new points of cooperation for future projects.
We strongly believe that high-quality recovery is impossible without partnership — between local authorities, state institutions, businesses, and international organizations. Platforms like this conference are where a shared vision of the future is formed and concrete solutions are born.
Together with the communities of Cherkasy Region, we are already working on implementing energy-efficient solutions, modernizing heating systems, and preparing for upcoming challenges — with a clear focus on resilience, self-sufficiency, and people’s well-being.
We are grateful to our partners for their trust and open dialogue. We continue moving forward — together.
