From November 18 to 22, 2024, Ilona Prykhodko, Director of the Cherkasy Agency for Regional Development, is participating in a study visit as part of the UCORD project, which promotes cooperation between the regions of Ukraine and Romania.
The first day of the visit, November 18, was busy and informative. Participants got acquainted with key initiatives of the Ministry of Development, Public Works, and Administration of Romania.
Main highlights of the program:
- A presentation by Liviu Băileșteanu, Director of the General Directorate for Regional Development and Infrastructure, where the policies and strategies for regional development were discussed.
- A speech by representatives of the Directorate-General for European Territorial Cooperation, who presented the Interreg Next Romania-Ukraine program.
- A report by Yulia Herzog on the opportunities provided by the European Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument for local community development.
Participants gained valuable experience and practical knowledge about European approaches to regional development and international cooperation. These ideas can now be integrated into the Ukrainian context to strengthen communities and attract investments.
There are still many exciting meetings and new opportunities ahead to deepen the partnership between Ukraine and Romania.
